FIPSs

In 1986 was FOMAT de 1^e die begreep dat toenemende snelheden van machines, een synchronisatie vereisen, tussen het aanvoer transportsysteem en de machinesnelheid, om mogelijke vervuiling en een verkorte levensduur het vilt te voorkomen. Vandaag de dag hebben de laatste generatie van FIPS (smart serie) door het ontbreken van eindschakelaars, gezorgd een verdere verlaging van de onderhoudskosten.

FAP 125

FAP 125 is een apparaat om de borstel automatisch te draaien en de sproeipijp te spoelen.

ALL SHOWER PIPES (HP)

All shower pipes zijn voorzien van Fomat ruby nozzles, die ontworpen zijn om te zorgen voor een waterstroom en verbruiksconstante gedurende de tijd. Elke pijp is ontworpen om turbulenties en afbuiging in het midden te vermijden. All shower pipes zijn uitgerust met een penseelreinigingssysteem, die is ontworpen om turbulente effecten te vermijden en om de perfecte reiniging van de mondstukken en binnenwanden van de pijp te waarborgen.

SMART JET

Is het laatste systeem wat betreft het reinigen van vilt. Het biedt de mogelijkheid om het waterverbruik verder te verminderen, waardoor het direct in het vieze gebied kan ingrijpen dankzij een speciale draaiende kop met 4 mondstukken met grotere reinigingswerking.

EDGE TRIM SHOWER

System designed to allow a safe and easy replacement of the nozzles. The change of paper size can be done either manually with graduated bar or automatically by means of DCS.

TAILCUTTER

Made of a rigid structure with reliable components, this system avoids vibrations that can lead to inaccurate cutting causing frequent breaks of the paper sheet. The cutting speed is synchronized with the machine speed, this avoids the formation of conical reels. Maintenance can be done while the machine is working.

VAF - VACUUM CONTROL VALVE

Fomat control valve was designed to maintain a constant level of vacuum in the suction boxes. When a high vacuum is requested, the valve ensures a stable and proportional control, while with low vacuum, unlike other valves, it closes completely and put in communication the suction boxes with the atmospheric pressure, eliminating any internal residual pressure.  The VAF valve is equipped with Fomat positioner for compressed air saving, inside which it is possible to install the vacuum transmitter to read and regulate the valve. This valve was designed to significantly reduce costs and time for maintenance. It can be provided with a dedicated control system or in remote connection with existing systems

SMART CLEANER

Fomat system was designed to distribute uniformly the chemicals on cylinders and wires of dry end by means of an atomizing nozzle, reducing the consumption of these products. The HMI  (remote touch panel) for Smart Cleaner gives the possibility to determine the movement speed according to the machine speed. The control unit can be linked to all types of DCS or interface directly with Fomat dosing system.

HYDRO- ELECTRIC OSCILLATOR FOR DRY END CLEANING BLADES

After the great success of the oscillators for creping doctor blades, Fomat developed oscillators for the cleaning doctor blades of the drying section. The system ensures high reliability, significantly reducing installation and maintenance costs and  eliminating dead time for reversal.

DRY END TAIL CUTTER

The system has a simple and robust structure with components suitable to work at high temperatures. Its compact design allows installation in tight spaces. The cutting speed is synchronized with the machine speed. The system is controlled by a dedicated PLC which can be interfaced with the dry end tail braker. The motor is equipped with encoder that allows to detect the right position of the cutter reducing maintenance problems. Maintenance operations can be done out of the paper size for the operator total safety.

DUOFLOW ROTARY JOINTS FOR COOLING

Basing on the plant engineering experience, Fomat designed a joint with cooling siphon for  calenders and cylinders suitable for paper industry application and studied to have low maintenance costs. Rotary joints are made by a cooling water inlet, a compressed air inlet to ensure the pressure difference and a water outlet. The joint cartridge is interchangeable with the steam cartridge. The water is injected in the cylinder by means of fan nozzles mounted on the fixed siphon, which ensure the uniformity of the cooling fluid.

DRY END TAIL BRAKER

The system consists of a toothed blade and adjustable air jets for the passage of the tail. During the paper passage, the toothed blade makes the cut and simultaneously the air jets ensure the passage of the tail to the pope, preventing that the same goes under the machine. The system is controlled with pushbutton or interfaced with the PLC of the dry end tail cutter. Safety interlocks are provided to prevent access to the cutting blades during operation.

DUOFLOW ROTARY JOINTS AND TURBULENCE BARS

In order to get a perfect drainage of the cylinder, Fomat recommends to install fixed siphons with rotary joints supported by the machine frame. In case that a fixed anchoring structure on the machine is not available, Fomat designed a self-supporting holder able to ensure the stability of the siphon itself.  Both these solutions provide high stability of the siphon, which is the base condition to maximize the steam system efficiency

COOLING AND HEATING SYSTEM FOR CYLINDERS AND CALENDERS

Fomat manufactures customized cooling/heating equipment considering the energy source more convenient for the customer case by case.

MIST REMOVAL SYSTEM

The mists generated in the wet area could damage the product quality and workers safety.

FOMAT provides for tailor made solutions in order to guarantee a safe and healthy working environment and at the same time an efficient functioning of the machine.

DRYER SECTION HOOD

After many years of experience Fomat realized a new dryer section hood in fiber glass, combining energy savings, ease of installation and maintenance as well as long lasting performances.

STEAM SYSTEM

This was the first system developed in the seventies by Fomat, designed with the aim of reducing fuel consumption and thus ensuring significant energy savings.

This aim is still valid and desirable. Our system is closed in order to avoid losses due to steam flash.

Fomat can supply pre-assembled systems on skid, cascade system or with thermocompressor according to customer requirements and product features. Dealing with steam power plants up to rotary joints and siphons, Fomat provides also for complete systems and turn-key installations.

BOILER ROOM DESIGN & TURN-KEY SUPPLY

Fomat designs, builds and installs complete heating plants.

The water treatment or degassing plant can be supplied pre-assembled on skid in order to reduce costs and installation time.

The boiler room design will follow the careful analysis of the current and future needs of each customers

QUALITY CONTROL SYSTEM

With an increasingly demanding market, the quality control system (QCS) is a base equipment to  maintain the standards of production.

FOMAT offers a flexible, customizable and highly reliable system featuring low maintenance costs.

Our system also provides the possibility to  log-in and remote assistance.

Our systems can be equipped with conventional sensors or with infrared sensor capable of reading basis weight and moisture, thus avoiding the use of radioactive sources.

Our infrared sensor has a self-calibration system, which avoids the high costs of scheduled annual maintenance

BASIS WEIGHT VALVE

The basis weight valve is necessary to control with accuracy the paper basis weight, thus  ensuring a constant profile in the machine direction. 

The basis weight control valve is an essential part to secure a constant machine direction (MD) profile.

FOMAT basis weight control valve was designed in order to guarantee a high precision degree and a resolution of 10.000:1 - independent of the actuation time.

Some of the features of our equipment are the prevention of plugging risk, the removal of mechanical backlash and a linear relation between the valve opening and the flow.

ELECTROPNEUMATIC POSITIONER

Due to the high consumption and waste of compressed air of all the electropneumatic positioners installed in a paper mill, Fomat has developed a special and innovative product. Its main feature is the interruption of air consumption once the set point has been reached: this allows the saving of a high percentage of compressed air.

STEAM/WATER QUICK CONNECTIONS

Fomat manufactures quick connections for steam and water, with integrated return valve, that allows a fast and easy connection.

RUBY NOZZLES

Fomat levert robijn nozzles voor hoge druk sproeier pijpen en papier snijders.

De sproeiers kunnen geinstalleerd worden op systemen van andere fabrikanten. Fomat kan speciaal gemaakte nozzles produceren volgen de eisen van de klant.

MONOFLOW AND DUOFLOW ROTARY JOINTS FOR YANKEE

After over 30 years of experience in steam systems, Fomat designed a steam joint to ensure high reliability and easy and safe maintenance operations. For this purpose we have designed in the nineties a series of joints equipped with a cartridge seal unit that can be replaced very easily in a few minutes and then reconditioned for maintenance in total safety.

DOCTOR BLADE OSCILLATOR

Fomat became aware in 1998 that the life of the Yankee cylinders was decreasing due to the increased speed  and coating. A non-synchronized  mechanical movement was no longer adequate. The solution was a hydro-electronic product with variable stroke and speed, without dead times in the inversion phase and with the possibility to set the inversion point, thus ensuring longer life time of the blades and a decrease in paper breaks.

COATING PLANT AND SPRAYING SHOWER

FOMAT coating plant allows the complete independence from the suppliers of chemicals. It ensures the proper mixing, heating and concentration as well as filtration of the product. Another feature of the system is our FAST REMOVING coating pipe  with fan nozzles easy to be replaced in a few seconds while the machine is running. The shower is designed to ensure the uniform distribution of chemicals on the outer surface of the Yankee with a double, triple and quadruple coverage.  The shower can be equipped with pneumatic or electronic oscillating system.

YANKEE HOOD AND AUXILIARY SYSTEMS

Following the development of tissue machines, with ever higher temperatures and speeds, it became necessary to develop the Yankee hoods to increase their blowing speed and temperature.

Fomat designs ‘taylor made’ hoods and air systems to meet the specific customer requirements, with operation temperature up to 700°C  and series AHT and BI-HOT.

STEAM AND CONDENSATE SYSTEM

This was the first system developed by FOMAT in the seventies, designed with the aim of decreasing the fuel consumption and therefore ensuring a considerable energy saving. 

The times are not changed, and this aim is still valid and desirable. 

Our system is a closed circuit so as to avoid losses due to flash steam. We can offer an optimized system on a skid, fully assembled and wired. We can also add rotary joints and siphons to the supply, as well as steam generators

FYS YANKEE HEAD INSULATION

The rising costs of energy made the minimizing of losses the main purpose of research.

FOMAT developed and patented a new insulation system for the Yankee heads that can save up to 10% of steam consumption by eliminating the dissipation of the heads. 

STEAM BOX

With the purpose of saving energy in the tissue plants we actualized the steam boxes.

Working together with a low-pressure steam generator that recovers fumes, these boxes allow to increase the machine productivity free of charge.

The handling system developed by Fomat allows an easy cleaning of the steam box while the machine is running and the total elimination of possible mist leakage.

RECOVERY BOILER AND INTEGREX SERIES

Recovery boiler :  Fomat has always faced the energy saving problem and has first developed an efficient, reliable and low-maintenance solution.  Almost ten years ago we were the first to realize that we could add to the extraction system a shell recovery boiler, which guaranteed output up to 99%, excellent steam quality, constant functioning and reduced maintenance.

FAFF FRESH WATER FILTER & OTOCINCLUS CLARIFIED WATER FILTER

The need to use fresh water with residues or to reduce the water consumption brought Fomat to design and produce FAFF system for fresh water and patented OTOCINCLUS system for clarified water.

Special applications

Fomat provides the best solution for each kind of application in order to meet the customer needs. The picture shows an application on a machine with width 12m where a system to eliminate the pipe deflection was installed

FAST REMOVING Special applications

In case of large showers where the extraction of the inner pipe is difficult because of dimension and weight, an extraction system with a suitable support guide is available, which allows the operator to perform these operations independently and safely.

Cooling joint

The cooling on certain press rolls and reel drum is important to enhance the equipment performance.

It is vital to obtain the correct extraction of the cooling water to avoid a higher load on the roll, specially at high machine speed.

FOMAT manufactures a joint and a siphon capable to be installed in every roll, thanks to the great experience we have acquired with our steam joints.

Duoflow rotary joint

Rotary joints are vital for the proper operation of a steam plant: here the condensate extraction starts.

FOMAT joints (supported and self-supported duoflow) have the peculiarity to keep the syphon in cantilever: this way the distance between the syphon and the cover of the cylinder remains constant.

Another feature of our joints lies in the seal cartridge: the graphite stays inside this cartridge and that allows for a safe and fast replacement.

FAST REMOVING

Is a patented system which allows to disassemble the shower while the machine is working.

The fixing and sealing systems besides the discharge system, ensure reduced assembling/disassembling time with no need to stop the machine.

DUST AND MIST REMOVAL SYSTEM

The dust generated around the doctor blades could deposit on the surrounding area, affecting the paper quality and increasing the fire risk. The mists generated in the wet area could damage the product quality and workers safety.

FOMAT provides for a tailor made solution in order to guarantee a safe and healthy working environment and at the same time an efficient functioning of the machine.

Vacuum valve

An accurate vacuum control and a constant vacuum level during the paper production: this is offered by FOMAT vacuum control valves.

Some of the features:

• Linearity of the flow with respect to the valve opening.
• Electro-pneumatic actuator that does not consume air when the set point is reached.

Yankee hood

Following the development of the tissue machines, with higher production and speed, there has been a need to develop the Yankee hoods to increase the blowing temperature and speed.

FOMAT manufactures "taylor-made" hoods and air systems to meet customer's requirements, with an operation temperature up to 650 °C.

We offer a closed steam and condensate system without any flash steam. We supply an optimal system combined with our rotary joints and siphons
