In 1986 was FOMAT de 1e die begreep dat toenemende snelheden van machines, een synchronisatie vereisen, tussen het aanvoer transportsysteem en de machinesnelheid, om mogelijke vervuiling en een verkorte levensduur het vilt te voorkomen. Vandaag de dag hebben de laatste generatie van FIPS (smart serie) door het ontbreken van eindschakelaars, gezorgd een verdere verlaging van de onderhoudskosten.
FAP 125 is een apparaat om de borstel automatisch te draaien en de sproeipijp te spoelen.
ALL SHOWER PIPES (HP)
All shower pipes zijn voorzien van Fomat ruby nozzles, die ontworpen zijn om te zorgen voor een waterstroom en verbruiksconstante gedurende de tijd. Elke pijp is ontworpen om turbulenties en afbuiging in het midden te vermijden. All shower pipes zijn uitgerust met een penseelreinigingssysteem, die is ontworpen om turbulente effecten te vermijden en om de perfecte reiniging van de mondstukken en binnenwanden van de pijp te waarborgen.
Is het laatste systeem wat betreft het reinigen van vilt. Het biedt de mogelijkheid om het waterverbruik verder te verminderen, waardoor het direct in het vieze gebied kan ingrijpen dankzij een speciale draaiende kop met 4 mondstukken met grotere reinigingswerking.
EDGE TRIM SHOWER
System designed to allow a safe and easy replacement of the nozzles. The change of paper size can be done either manually with graduated bar or automatically by means of DCS.
Made of a rigid structure with reliable components, this system avoids vibrations that can lead to inaccurate cutting causing frequent breaks of the paper sheet. The cutting speed is synchronized with the machine speed, this avoids the formation of conical reels. Maintenance can be done while the machine is working.
VAF - VACUUM CONTROL VALVE
Fomat control valve was designed to maintain a constant level of vacuum in the suction boxes. When a high vacuum is requested, the valve ensures a stable and proportional control, while with low vacuum, unlike other valves, it closes completely and put in communication the suction boxes with the atmospheric pressure, eliminating any internal residual pressure. The VAF valve is equipped with Fomat positioner for compressed air saving, inside which it is possible to install the vacuum transmitter to read and regulate the valve. This valve was designed to significantly reduce costs and time for maintenance. It can be provided with a dedicated control system or in remote connection with existing systems
Fomat system was designed to distribute uniformly the chemicals on cylinders and wires of dry end by means of an atomizing nozzle, reducing the consumption of these products. The HMI (remote touch panel) for Smart Cleaner gives the possibility to determine the movement speed according to the machine speed. The control unit can be linked to all types of DCS or interface directly with Fomat dosing system.
HYDRO- ELECTRIC OSCILLATOR FOR DRY END CLEANING BLADES
After the great success of the oscillators for creping doctor blades, Fomat developed oscillators for the cleaning doctor blades of the drying section. The system ensures high reliability, significantly reducing installation and maintenance costs and eliminating dead time for reversal.
DRY END TAIL CUTTER
The system has a simple and robust structure with components suitable to work at high temperatures. Its compact design allows installation in tight spaces. The cutting speed is synchronized with the machine speed. The system is controlled by a dedicated PLC which can be interfaced with the dry end tail braker. The motor is equipped with encoder that allows to detect the right position of the cutter reducing maintenance problems. Maintenance operations can be done out of the paper size for the operator total safety.
DUOFLOW ROTARY JOINTS FOR COOLING
Basing on the plant engineering experience, Fomat designed a joint with cooling siphon for calenders and cylinders suitable for paper industry application and studied to have low maintenance costs. Rotary joints are made by a cooling water inlet, a compressed air inlet to ensure the pressure difference and a water outlet. The joint cartridge is interchangeable with the steam cartridge. The water is injected in the cylinder by means of fan nozzles mounted on the fixed siphon, which ensure the uniformity of the cooling fluid.
DRY END TAIL BRAKER
The system consists of a toothed blade and adjustable air jets for the passage of the tail. During the paper passage, the toothed blade makes the cut and simultaneously the air jets ensure the passage of the tail to the pope, preventing that the same goes under the machine. The system is controlled with pushbutton or interfaced with the PLC of the dry end tail cutter. Safety interlocks are provided to prevent access to the cutting blades during operation.
DUOFLOW ROTARY JOINTS AND TURBULENCE BARS
In order to get a perfect drainage of the cylinder, Fomat recommends to install fixed siphons with rotary joints supported by the machine frame. In case that a fixed anchoring structure on the machine is not available, Fomat designed a self-supporting holder able to ensure the stability of the siphon itself. MONOFLOW AND DUOFLOW ROTARY JOINTS FOR YANKEE
After over 30 years of experience in steam systems, Fomat designed a steam joint to ensure high reliability and easy and safe maintenance operations. For this purpose we have designed in the nineties a series of joints equipped with a cartridge seal unit that can be replaced very easily in a few minutes and then reconditioned for maintenance in total safety.
DOCTOR BLADE OSCILLATOR
Fomat became aware in 1998 that the life of the Yankee cylinders was decreasing due to the increased speed and coating. A non-synchronized mechanical movement was no longer adequate. The solution was a hydro-electronic product with variable stroke and speed, without dead times in the inversion phase and with the possibility to set the inversion point, thus ensuring longer life time of the blades and a decrease in paper breaks.
COATING PLANT AND SPRAYING SHOWER
FOMAT coating plant allows the complete independence from the suppliers of chemicals. It ensures the proper mixing, heating and concentration as well as filtration of the product. Another feature of the system is our FAST REMOVING coating pipe with fan nozzles easy to be replaced in a few seconds while the machine is running. The shower is designed to ensure the uniform distribution of chemicals on the outer surface of the Yankee with a double, triple and quadruple coverage. FYS YANKEE HEAD INSULATION
The rising costs of energy made the minimizing of losses the main purpose of research.
FOMAT developed and patented a new insulation system for the Yankee heads that can save up to 10% of steam consumption by eliminating the dissipation of the heads.
With the purpose of saving energy in the tissue plants we actualized the steam boxes.
Working together with a low-pressure steam generator that recovers fumes, these boxes allow to increase the machine productivity free of charge.

Duoflow rotary joint
Rotary joints are vital for the proper operation of a steam plant: here the condensate extraction starts.
